The Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship of Los Angeles Fellow

Samantha G. Maliha, MD MS

Dr. Maliha graduated summa cum laude and with highest honors from the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry. She then attended the New York University School of Medicine where she was accepted into a dual degree medical-graduate degree program and simultaneously received both an MD and MS in clinical investigation. While at NYU, she spent time in a tissue engineering lab studying the effect of dipyridamole on cranial suture biology in the pediatric facial skeleton. She was awarded the Paul Black Junior Investigator Award at the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA) meeting for her work. As a result, she was invited back as a co-chair as a fourth year medical student. In her free time at Penn and NYU, Dr. Maliha spent time performing musical theater and keeping in touch with her musical roots.

Following medical school, Dr. Maliha matched to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, which consistently ranks as the top Plastic Surgery program in the US (Doximity Rankings) for her plastic and reconstructive surgery training. There, she trained and learned techniques from international leaders in the field but also remained committed to advancing the forefront of medicine and Plastic Surgery. Dr. Maliha has authored nearly 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles and textbook chapters in both basic and clinical research and has contributed to numerous abstracts/presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. While in residency, she was also elected to a number of leadership positions including as a member of the Resident Representative Committee (RRC) as well as one of the Administrative Chief Resident (ACR) to represent the resident body.

During her residency, Dr. Maliha was trained by leaders in all fields of plastic surgery including craniofacial, hand, microsurgery, breast, and aesthetic surgery. However, she chose to continue honing her craft through an additional year of dedicated aesthetics training at The Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship of Los Angeles, which is widely regarded as the top aesthetics fellowship in the country. Aesthetic surgery is, at its core, the marrying of surgery and art. Dr. Maliha strives to deliver a personalized and safe approach to treating her patients. Through great attention to fine detail, her passion lies in achieving natural yet definitive results.
